Restriction imposed on cremation at Puri Swargadwar

Puri: The Puri district administration has imposed restrictions on cremation at Swargadwar burning ghat in the wake of sharp rise in new corona positive cases.
Puri sub-collector Bhabataran Sahu on Saturday said since several staff ofSwargdwar have been infected with coronavirus, the administration has decided not to allow bodies coming from outside the district for cremation at Swargadwar crematorium.
Only non covid bodies from the district will be allowed to be cremated in the Swargadwar, hesaid.
The restrictions will be effective from Monday onwards This apart, a portion of district judiciary complex has been declared as micro containment zone from Friday as some judicial officers and staff were tested covid positive.
Earlier micro containment zone was declared on a hotel following detection of three Omicron cases. In the meanwhile new corona cases from the district jumped from 54 on Friday to 100 on Saturday
