Bhubaneswar : Odisha reported 623 new covid cases in the past 24 hours taking the total tally in the state to 10,20,244.
Health and Family Welfare department sources said 362 cases from the quarantine centres and 261 local contact cases were reported in the state in the past 24 hours.
At least 95 covid positive cases were reported in the age group of 0 to 18 years and Khordha district registered the highest number of 271 cases followed by Cuttack (74),Jagatsinghpur (29) and 28 each from Balasore and Jajpur district.
These five coastal districts have together recorded 68 percent of the total new infections reported in the state in the past 24 hours.
The recovery in the state soared to 10,06,320 after 756 were found cured from the virus on Saturday.
The active cases further reduced to 5736, a majority of which has been reported from Khordha and Cuttack districts.
These two districts have nearly 63.4 percent of the total active cases in the state.
Official sources said during the ongoing health audit seven more deaths were reported from four districts pushing the total fatalities in the state so far to 8135.
The Test Positivity Rate in the state today recorded 0.99 percent but Khordha district has registered the highest 3.7 percent followed by Jagatsinghpur ( 1.9 percent ) and Cuttack (1.8percent).
The other 27 districts have recorded TPR less than one percent in the past 24 hours.
