SP XI Wins Friendly Cricket Match

Puri: Sp XI emerged victorious in a friendly cricket match between Puri 12/4 District Collector’s XI and SP XI. SP XI defeated Collector’s XI by 7 wickets in the match. Electing to bat after winning the toss, District Collector XI
scored 92 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted overs while SP XI won by scoring 98 runs for the loss of three wickets. Santosh Baral (22), Biswaranjan (20), Municipal Executive Officer Saroj Kumar Swain (18) and Dushmantha (3/18) were the pick of the bowlers for SP XI while Deputy Commandant Kaushik Nayak took two wickets for 11 runs. For SP XI, Prahlad Bhoi (47), Reserve Inspector Chandra Shekhar Das (18), Ranjan Palai (17) and City DSP K K Hariprasad (12) took three wickets for 14 runs. D C Kaushik Nayak received the Champions Trophy from SP XI and Municipal Executive Officer Swain received the Runner of The Trophy on behalf of Collector’s XI. Sp XI’s Prahlad was awarded the Man of the Match trophy.

At the outset, District Collector Samarth Verma and SP Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh welcomed and encouraged everyone and interacted with the players. Among others, Additional District Magistrate Administration Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Additional Collector Revenue Kailash Chandra Nayak, Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Jyoti Shankar Mohapatra, SubCollector Bhabataran Sahu, Additional SP Mihir Kumar Panda, Purna Chandra Pradhan and Prafulla Kumar Badajena were present.
