OMDC Staff Shot Dead by Contract Killer, Which He hired to kill His Nephew

Keonjhar: Keonjhar police cracked down murder case of a Government India undertaking, organisation Orissa Minerals Development Company (OMDC) staff murder Dushasan Barik of Dalki slum in Barbil on tuesday. Police arrested three out of four accused allegedly involved in this incident and forwarded to court. The killers were hired by the deceased to kill his nephew but shot dead by them. Sources said that Dushasan was shot dead by unknown miscreants on April 7 late night over an alleged property dispute and the bullet shot dead body was seized
by the police from Damu hutting underBarbil police station limit on next day.But during the investigation police
revealed that the OMDC staff was killed by a contract killer.

During the investigation police revealed that contract killers were engaged by Dusasan to kill his nephew and his sister’s son, over the property dispute. Police arrested three accused in this case including the broker of the property identified as Sahadat Khan (26), who was associated with the deceased. Two others accused named as
Md Nihal Khan (29), the contract killer who had supplied the guns and Shah Rukh Khan (26) all are natives of Gaya police station limit of Bihar but staying presently at Barkat Nagar area of Barbil. Another accused allegedly involved in this crime Warish Khan also from Bihar is yet to be arrested. According to the police sources there was a long dispute with one of his sisters over land.

Hence Dushasan and his associated land broker plotted the plan to kill his nephew (sister’s son) for which they hired contract killers for rupees five lakh. The date and venue were fixed for the murder and Dusasan made a deal to give an advance of rupees Two lakh. But Dusasan had paid forty thousand rupees in advance. As per their plan the property broker Sahadat called Dushasan late on April 7, night. As Dusasan failed to pay the rest amount that night, the contract killers got angry and opened fire on Dushasan.

On the basis of phone calls of Dushasan’s mobile phone and CCTv footage in the different areas of Barbil town and started the investigation. Police found frequent calls to Sahadat, the property broker. Later police brought Sahadat to the police station, where he confessed about the incident during the interrogation, police said. “Dushasan has hired contract killers to kill his nephew, his Sister’s son. But he was shot dead by them over payment of advance money. Out of four accused, three were arrested. The fourth will soon be behind bar” said IIC Barbil Promodini Sahu, while briefing to media persons.
