Puri: -Marking the 71st Foundation Day of the State Bank and in view of the upcoming Rath Yatra, the State Bank’s Regional Business Office, Puri, in association with voluntary organisation The Bell, organised a blood donation camp at the SBI Holiday Home here on Thursday.
The camp was inaugurated by Additional District Magistrate (Administration), Puri, Sarat Chandra Mohapatra, who attended as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasised the importance of voluntary blood donation, stating that “a single drop of blood can save a precious life” and urged people to overcome their apprehensions and come forward to donate blood.
Regional Manager of SBI, Bharat Charan Sahu, attended as the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Siddhartha Ray, president of The Bell, said that SBI has not only excelled in customer service but has also set significant milestones in social responsibility initiatives over the past 71 years.
Among those present were SBI Puri Branch Chief Manager Hemanta Kumar Pradhan, Human Resources Manager of the Regional Office Jitendra Nayak, Additional Branch Manager Rajesh Kumar Sahu, and Additional Regional Human Resources Officer Pratap Kumar Jena. The dignitaries distributed gifts and certificates to the blood donors in recognition of their contribution.Senior SBI officials and volunteers of The Bell jointly coordinated the camp. The organisation’s vice-president, Sukanta Kumar Panda, proposed the vote of thanks.
A total of 80 units of blood were collected during the camp.
