Bhubaneswar : Odisha will have 34 child friendly Police stations one each in the 34 Police districts of the state.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed officials to set up a Child Friendly Police station realising the need for a special friendly environment for children coming to Police stations for various reasons .
Chief Minister’s office sources said special facilities would be provided to the children in these police stations .
The child friendly police stations would have a special logo, sign board and a small library for children.Good books, magazines and newspapers will be kept in the library.
Table, chair and beds would be provided in the Police station for the convenience of the children.
The police stations would have signboards about the rights of children Provisions for Toys, first aid kits and special boards featuring the names of Child welfare officers would be installed in the Police station for communicating with the officers.
The walls of the Police stations would be painted with beautiful pictures and many educative subjects to help minimise the mental stress of the children.
