Bhubaneswar : The covid tally in Odisha surged to10,48,683 with the detection of 191 new cases in the past 24 hours.
The total fatalities due to covid in the state during the last 24 hours went up to 8407 with the death of one more person.
Of the 191 new cases, as many as 33 are below 18 years of age. While 112 are reported from quarantine centres 79 are local contact cases.
Khordha reported 87 cases, the highest in the state followed by Sundergarha and Cuttack 13 each and Balasore 10.
As many 17 districts reported fresh covid positive cases below 10.
In the past 24 hours, 255 covid patients were cured of the virus pushing the total recoveries in the state to 10,37,864.
While, the active cases in the state declined to 2359.
