Bhubaneswar: On the eve of 75TH Republic Day parade, a contingent consisting of 57 Cadets both Senior Division (Boys) & Senior Wing (Girls) of Odisha NCC Directorate participated with enthusiasm and fervour. The team
was selected & trained over a period of 90 days on different facets of NCC like Drill, GK, Personality Development ,Small Arms Firing , 3D Marbel Mosaic Designing & various cultural activities to depict the heritage and culture of UTKAL/ Odisha. The Team was lead by Lt Col LN Mahapatra the Contingent Commander and 02x Associated NCC Officers Maj Bijoy Kumar Biswal Principal ,UN College Soro, Balasore & Capt Reeta Rani Mishra of Women’s College Rayagada. In spite of a setback to training amidst COVID-19 Pandemic, Odisha has risen to the occassion by contributing 15 Cadets for Rajpath marching contingent and 5 Cadets for giving Guard of Honour to the PM on the eve of Prime Minister Rally. This achievement is the best performance by Odisha at RD Parade in the past six yrs. The names of proud participants of Rajpath parade on 26 January 2022 from Odisha NCC are:-.Sridhar Sahoo, Soumya Ranjan Mandangi, Sankweta Hembram, Choudhury Sarada Prasad Nanda, Ashutosh Pradhan, Harmeet Singh, Rohit Deep, Sachin Katalel, Pritimayee Mohanty, Preeti Mahananda, Anusaya Jena, Ankita Mohanty, Pragnyasikha Senapati, Subhasmita Barik, Banasmita Nayak and Guard of Honor cadets are Chinamaya Malik, Narayan Sethi, Arabinda
Nayak, Ranjit Mohapatra and Silpa Badatya. NCC inculcates the sprit of National unity in the youth of India.
This outstanding achievement by such a large contingent of the NCC cadets participating in the Republic Day Parade at the Rajpath will motivate the youth of Odisha to not just excel in their respective areas of expertise, but also find a
cause and purpose in service of the Nation as responsible citizens and leaders of resplendent India
