Odisha: Covid cases on decline trend,1011 reports in past 24 hours

Bhubaneswar, July 24 (Dumanimail) The covid positive cases in Odisha continued to remain over 1000 mark for the fifth consecutive day with declining trend as 1011 new infections were recorded in
the past 24 hours taking the tally in the state to 13,06,510.
The covid load which reported 1122 on July 19 and further went up to 1196 on the next day started declining on the subsequent days to 1178, 1130 and finally 1011 in the past 24 hours.
Health department sources said out of 1011 new cases, 591 were recorded from the quarantine centres and 420 as local contact cases. At least 130 cases were registered in the age group of 0
to 18 years.
Khordha topped the district tally with 239 cases followed by Sundargarh (180),Sambalpur (105), Cuttack (81) and Mayurbhanj (71).
Official sources said one covid death was recorded in Bhadrak district where a 53 year old also suffering from carcinoma colon succumbed to the virus pushing the fatalities in the state to 9132.
At the same time 915 covid patients under treatment were cured in the past 24 hours taking the
total recoveries in the state to 12,89,885.
There has been a marginal reduction of the state’s Test Positivity Rate which had declined from
4.84 percent to 4.66 in the past 24 hours.
However four districts such as Sonepur, Sambalpur, Sundergarh and Mayurbhanj had reported
the TPR above 7.5 percent and remained as Red Zones.
On the other hand Khordha, Bargarh and Cuttack district registered the TPR above 5 percent to come under Yellow Zones.
The active cases further jumped to 7440 with Khordha and Sundargarh districts reporting over
1000 marks each and remaining as yellow zones.
