Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister D Pradhan condoles death of former Odisha Assembly Speaker

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union MinisterDharmendra Pradhan , Odisha Pradesh Congress President Niranjan Patnaik and BJP NationalVice President Baijayant Panda on
Thursday condoled the death of sitting BJD Brajarajnagar MLA and former Odisha LegislativeAssembly speaker Kishore Mohanty.
In a condolence message, the chief Minister expressed his profound grief over the demise of lateKishore Mohanty and said he was deeply saddened to learn about his death.
Mr Patnaik said he was very popular as a leader among all people irrespective of their partyaffiliations.
As a Speaker he had won the respect of legislators of all parties while uphelding the highconstitutional traditions.
He has rich contributions as MLA and Minister for the development of Odisha and had launchedmany developmental programmes as Chairman of the Western Odisha Development Council.
Mr Patnaik said he has strengthened the BJD organisational programme in Western Odisha.Service and commitment were another side of his personality.
The Chief Minister prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed his sympathies tothe bereaved family.
Union Education Dharmendra Pradhan in a tweet said Kishore Mohanty was a strong leader ofWestern Odisha. His death has created a void in the Odisha Politics.
Expressing his grief over the demise , Mr Pradhan said he and Kishore Mohanty were elected tothe state Assembly in 2000. In 2004 while he represented Deogarha Lok Sabha constituency,Late Kishore Mohanty was
the MLA of Jharsuguda.
He was a popular leader and would be always remembered for his works he did during his longpolitical career.
While praying for the salvation of the departed soul, the Union Minister expressed hissympathies to the bereaved family members. He prayed Lord Jaganath to give enough patienceand courage to face the
tragedy.
