Bhubaneswar : The monsoon session of the Odisha Assembly will commence from September 1 to 9 amid all covid restrictions.
The session will have eight working days. The house will not sit on Sunday.
Assembly sources said September 3 has been reserved for private members’ business while the other days are kept for official business.
Odisha Assembly Speaker Surya Narayan Patro who presided over an all-party meeting for smooth conduct of the business of the house said the RT -PCR test of all members, employees, and employees of the Assembly Secretariat will be done and they would be provided Corona preventive kits.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation will sanitise the assembly every day. The house will function for five hours every day in two sessions.
The house will sit every day from 1030hrs to 1330hrs in the pre-lunch session and from 1600hrs to 1800 hrs in the post-lunch session except on an inaugural day. On an inaugural day, the house will conduct its business from 1100hrs to 1330 hrs and from 1600hrs to 1800hrs.
The Speaker said in view of the possible third wave special sitting arrangements for the members would be made in the Assembly, gallery, and Speaker’s gallery.
He said the Chief Minister, Ministers, Leader of Opposition and members if wanted can participate in the debate of the house through video conference.
