Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has imposed night curfew in all urbanareas of
the state every day till February 1 and banned movement of vehicles during the curfew except forexigencies on production of proper evidence.
There shall be graded unlocking throughout the state with effect from 5 AM of January 1 till 5AM of February 1 and during the unlock period all types of shops and malls shall remain openacross the state from 5 AM to 10 PM every day, the new guidelines said.
The new unlocking guideline issued for January 2022 prohibited all Social/ Religiousgatherings,Exhibitions/ Trade Fairs/ Expo/ Melas
Political gatherings should be limited to not more than 100 persons with full compliance toCOVID protocols. The official events however will be allowed with prior permission of thegovernment.
The government banned picnics in Parks, Nature Clubs, Beaches and other Picnic Spots in thestate.There will be no cultural and Dance programmes in Hotels, Parks/Malls/ ConventionCentres/ Kalyan Mandaps.
The Educational Institutions shall not organize Excursions/ Picnics till end of January 2022 and
Annual Day Celebration/ Anniversary in the pretext of any reason is also prohibited.
The government has also banned the zero night celebration and welcome to new year in hotels,clubs,parks, convention halls and kalian mandaps across the state.
No celebration other than marriage is allowed across the state and funeral rites are allowed with
due covid regulations.There would be strict vigilance on crowding and gathering across the state
during zero night and new year celebrations.
Keeping in mind possible crowd and gatherings at public places on December 31, January 1 andJanuary 2, Special Relief Commissioner P K Jena in a letter to all district collectors , Municipalcommissioners and all superintendent of police asked them to undertake random checking of
crowd and gatherings .
The concerned officials were directed to impose any additional restriction as may be felt
necessary in the interest of containment of the spread of covid 19.
The SRC said in case of violation of covid 19 protocols a heavy penalty may be imposed as decide by local authorities.
