My doors will remain open for poor: Guv designate

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor designate RaghubarDas on Monday said ‘his doors
will remain open for the poor andneedy round the clock’. Poorfamilies are suffering and it is
most important to work for theirupliftment and the developmentof Odisha will be my
priority,”Das told newsmen afteroffering prayers to the presidingdeities of Sri Jagannath temple at
Puri. He said “I prayed to LordJagannath to bless the wellbeingof the people. Earlier at 5 AM,
Raghubar Das arrived at Purirailway station along with hisfamily members and eighty close
relatives through Purusottamexpress. He was received byOdiaha Health Minister Niranjan
Pujari, District magistrateSamarth Verma andSuperintendent of Police K.Vishal Singh. Raghubar Das wasNaveen WelcomesRaghubar DasChief Minister NaveenPatnaik on Monday welcomed
the Governor-designateRaghubar Das to Odisha.The Chief Minister said thathe is looking forward to working with the new Governor for the  sustained development of the state and welfare of people.Earlier today, Das visitedthe Srimandir in Puri to offerprayers and seek the
blessings of the deities. The swearing-in ceremony of thenewly appointed Governor
will take place at the RajBhavan on Tuesday.escorted to Puri Raj bhavan from
the Railway station. At about 11 am, they went to Sri Jagannath temple where Raghubar Das was
recieved at the temple gate by temple chief administrator RanjanKumar Das, Collector Samarth Verma and SP Kanwar Vishal Singhbesides BJP state president Manmohan Samal and local mla JayantKumar Sarangi. He along with his accompanying members were escortedinto the temple. The Governor designate and his family members weretaken into Garbhagriha. They had a close darshan of Lord Jagannathand his siblings on Ratnasinhasan. Raghubar Das and his relatives also
visited Mahalakshmi, Vimala, Hanuman and Biswanath deities in theirrespective temples located in the temple premises. While coming outof the shrine, the temple administration presented the holy “Khanduacloth of the deity”. Later he returned to Raj Bhavan and after some
time he left for Bhubaneswar by road. The former Jharkhand ChiefMinister will be sworn in as Governor of Odisha on Tuesday. Officialsources said, Das will spend tonight at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar andis scheduled to visit the Lingaraj temple in Old town on Tuesdaymorning before taking oath as the new Governor of Odish .
