Bhubanesar: The Kuchinda Police Station in Sambalpur District has been adjudged best police Stations in the State as per the Annual Ranking of Police Stations for the year 2020 by the union home ministry. Of the police stations in Odisha, it topped the list of best performing police stations in the State.
The ministry of home affairs issued a certificate in this regard. In a simple function held in Sambalpur, the officials of the police station were felicitated today in recognition of their performance, said senior police officials. Quality Council of India (QCI) was entrusted to carry out the survey for grading the Police Stations across the country.
The criteria for measuring the best police stations include smart policing, use of technology in delivery of services, citizen centric policing, Public Relations and community policing, people friendly policing, women and child friendly policing, better grievance redressal mechanism.
A team from Quality Council of India had visited Kuchinda earlier and had interacted with the people from various walks of life before finalizing the list. The assessment team gathered input from the general public, women, people in the SC, ST and minority community etc in this regard for taking a final decision in the matter, added the officials.
“This is a crown in Sambalpur Police. Congratulations to Inspector Kuchinda police station and all staff of the police station. This will motivate us to work with more dedication in service of people”, said Narasingha Bhol, Inspector General of Police, Northern Range. IGP Bhol today handed over the certificate and memento to Kamal Kumar Panda, Inspector-in-charge, Kuchinda police station in a simple function at Sambalpur.
