DAV Zonal Chess Meet Concludes at DAV Kalinga Nagar

Bhubaneswar: The Zonal Level Girls’ and Boys’ Chess Tournament 2023 organised under the aegis of DAV National Sports Meet-2023 concluded in a glittering ceremony here at DAV Public School, Kalinga Nagar. DAV, CDA, Cuttack lifted the champion trophy with 12 point and DAV, SCB Medical, Cuttack emerged runners-up in boys’ category. Similarly, DAV CDA became champion with 8 points and DAV, Chandrasekharpur turned out the runners-up in Girls’ category. The tournament provided an outstanding platform for 68 gifted sports geniuses from 17 DAV Schools of Odisha Zone to showcase their talents. In a colourful closing ceremony organized for this purpose, Principal of the host school Sri Balaram Mahapatra and Principal of DAV, Pokhariput Sri Bipin Kumar Sahoo commended the participants for their spirit of true sportsmanship displayed throughout the event and felicitated the winner and runners-up teams with trophies and medals. Director of Odisha Chess Association, Sri Debasish Panigrahi was the chief arbitrator while Sri Srujan Ray acted as the official in this tournament. The event was conducted smoothly by the Physical Education department of the school with the co-operation of all the staff members under the supervision of the Principal.
