Bhubaneswar, July 9 (DumaniMail) After witnessing a surge of 400 plus Covid positive cases for three consecutive days, the new infection cases in Odisha surpassed the 500 mark in the past 24 hours. Health department sources said 512 new Covid positive cases were reported from 22 of the total 30 districts in the state in the past 24 hours taking the total tally to 12,92,928. Out of the total new cases, 300 cases were reported from the quarantine centres and 212 as local contact cases. Khordha district recorded 237 new cases, the highest number in the district tally followed by Cuttack (89) and 29 each in Puri and Sundargarh. The active cases further rose to 2795 while with the recovery of 204 more covid patients,the total recovery in the state so far went up to 12,80,954.
