Bhubaneswar : The daily covid load in Odisha dipped below 1000 after a gap of almost four months as 886 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours taking the tally to 9,87,956.
Health and family Welfare department sources said 512 covid positive cases were reported from quarantine centres and 374 as local contact cases from all the 30 districts.
Only Khordha district recorded more than 100 cases while the other 29 districts reported less than 100 cases.
The Test Positivity Rate (TPR) also declined to 1.34 from 1.74 on Sunday as out of 66,063 tests conducted in the past 24 hours 886 tested covid positive.
The TPR in all the 30 districts in the state remained below 5 percent for the sixth consecutive day.
The highest TPR of 4.5 percent was registered in Jagatsinghpur district.
As many as 18 districts in the state recorded TPR less than one percent.
Sources said in the past 24 hours 66 covid patients under treatment succumbed to the covid 19 taking the total fatalities to 6501.
A maximum of 29 deaths were reported only in Khordha district followed by Cuttack (13),Sambalpur (8) and Bargarh ( 7) in the past 24 hours .
The active cases in the state further declined to 11486 with Khordha district alone registering 3769 cases followed by Cuttack ( 1392).
These two coastal districts reported 44.93 percent of the total active cases in the state.
About 1463 people recovered from the virus on Sunday pushing the total recoveries in the state to 9,69,916.
