CM Distributes Land Pattas to Displaced Families

Bhubaneswar: In a milestone in the administrative history of Odisha, the 100-year problem of displaced people has been resolved in just 100 days as part of the 5T transformative initiative. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday resolved the longstanding land issues of the displaced people of different parts of the State and distributed land pattas to them. People of Lakhanpur Tehsil in Jharsuguda district have been facing various problems for years due to land issue. After the 5T Chairman VK Pandian’s visit to the district on August 20, the settlement process was intensified. The survey was started for their 18 revenue villages. Out of these, survey was completed for 866 families of 7 villages and land pattas have been given. The remaining 11 villages are being surveyed. Soon 1339 families of these 11 villages will get land pattas soon. Similarly, the land of 22 villages in Surada Tehsil of Ganjam District was recorded in the name of Water Resources Department in 1983. Today, the land of 17 villages has gone to the Revenue Department and their settlement is going on. Out of these, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has distributed Ghardiha Pattas to 962 people and Land Pattas to 700 people. After the visit of 5T Chairman on August 26 and 27, the survey work was intensified and the process to solve the problem was started. Addressing the local people and beneficiaries in the programme organized through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said that he has always made sincere efforts to solve the problems of the common people. The CM also said that he felt very happy that the land issues of people of Lakhanpur and Surda tehsils have been resolved. In the first phase of this year in Ganjam district, 20,000 beneficiaries were given Gramkantha Pattas. 18,000 more beneficiaries will get Gramkantha Pattas soon, the CM added. Speaking on the occasion, 5T Chairman VK Pandian said that due to the sincere efforts of the Chief Minister, the problems of many years have been resolved. Attending the programme, Labour Minister Sarada Nayak, Aska MP Pramila Bisoyi, Brajarajnagar MLA Alka Mohanty, Surada MLA Purna Chandra Swain lauded the historic of step of the Chief Minister.
