BMC Seals XIMB After Students and Staff Tested Positive

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed the campus of  Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) for safety reasons and put all its students, employees and faculty members under isolation after it was found that some of the students and staff of the B-school tested COVID-19 positive.

“The XIMB campus has been sealed after some of its students and staff tested COVID-19 positive until further orders and nobody is allowed to enter the premises. In order to check the spread of Covid-19, a protocol has been put in place for sanitizing the college campus and all documents too,” said BMC Zonal Deputy Commissioner (North), Shri Purandar Nanda, who is personally monitoring the sanitation work and strict enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines in and around the college.

The BMC has already sanitized the entire campus, including classrooms, library, auditoriums etc. Meanwhile, a special team has been rushed to the campus to conduct tests of other students and staff of the college. Swab samples were collected from students and staff of the institution and sent for RTPCR test.

“There is no reason to panic. The BMC has been keeping a close watch on the situation and taking precautionary measures to check the further spread of the virus,” Shri Nanda informed.
