Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the National Road Safety Month in Bhubaneswar, emphasizing the importance of road safety awareness and responsible driving. The initiative, themed “Come Home Safe,” aims to educate citizens about the consequences of neglecting road safety.
A rally from Master Canteen Square to Ram Mandir Square drew enthusiastic participation from various groups, including students, drivers, artists, and government officials. Chief Minister Majhi administered a pledge, encouraging everyone to follow road safety rules diligently.
The event saw the presence of several notable figures, including Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Urban Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sulochana Das, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur, and BDA VC Thirumala Naik.
Artists performed a thought-provoking skit featuring Chandragupta and Yamaraj, delivering a strong message about road safety. The event highlighted the state’s commitment to reducing road accidents and promoting responsible driving practices.
