Paralakhemundi : At Kashinagar block of Gajapati district women cashew processing labourers on strike for their legitimate demand to hike on wages.On 11th June more than 100 women at Hadubhangi of Kashinagar block gathered to pressure the administration to increase their wages.
They demanded that near Andhra Pradesh border just 2 kms distance at Matla, at cashew industries, they are paying daily Rs. 30 per kg on processing where as at Odisha point they are getting Rs.19 per kg.
Neither they are included on insurance nor provident fund benefits. So they demand to increase from Rs.19 to 27 with all insurance benefits. Left front & AIJMS also supporting their demand.
In front of cashew industry shifting rally with 10 women going on to fulfill their strike. They are hurt that neither owner of firm, nor Labour department & administration taken up their grievances.
