Vigilance sleuths arrest Motu Police Station IIC on the charges of possessing unaccounted cash

Bhubaneswar : The sleuths of the Vigilance department today arrested Sushant. Sahu, the Inspector in Charge of Motu Police station of Malkangiri district on the charges of possessing unaccounted cash of Rs 2.8 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, the officials of the Vigilance department intercepted his car at Khordha yesterday while he was travelling from Motu to his house at Phulnakhara, Cuttack and seized the money.

The car is registered in the name of his brother in law Mihir Sahu.

He could not account for the money satisfactory during interrogation.

Following the interception, the office room of Mr Sahu, his house at his native village Nakhra and the house of his brother in law in Ranihat, Cuttack were searched.

During house searches among other incriminating material, a registered sale deed of value Rs 24.90 lakh of plot at Nakhra purchased recently in the name of his wife has been recovered.

A case has been registered u/s 7(a)/13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Amendment Act 2018.

He is being forwarded to the court of Special Judge Vigilance Bhubaneswar.
