Two held for creating fake IDs

New Delhi: Two fraudsters, who allegedly created fake partner IDs of Shadow fax company and collected food orders from restaurants and after delivering the same, did not deposit the amount to the company, were arrested from Delhi, police said on Monday.
Duo, identified as Punit Kumar (32) and Rahul Gupta (31), allegedly used to cheat a company Shadow fox by creating fake partner IDs. Thereafter, they used to collect the food orders from the restaurants and after delivering the same, they collected the amount and did not deposit it to the company which cost around Rs 4 lakh loss to it, said Usha Rangnani, Deputy Commissioner of Police, north-west Delhi.
The police said they received a complaint on Friday, in which complainant Alok Swami, Assistant Manager, Security, Shadow fax Technologies Private Ltd, stated that the company has an MoU with an app based company to provide the delivery boys the food orders to the customers. Thereafter, the company collects the delivery amount from customers and pays it to the app based company.
The company hired the delivery boys and issued a partner ID to each of them. Orders were placed by the customers and for the payment, customers usually took the option of “cash on delivery”. For the last 7-8 months, some of its delivery boys collected the food orders from the restaurants and after delivering the same to customers, they were collecting money and not depositing it to the company, which caused a loss of around 4 lakhs.
Rangnani said that a case was registered in Cyber Police station, north-west and started investigation.
During investigation, it came to notice that some of the IDs existed only for one or two days. Technical surveillance was carried out on these suspects. After that a person, Punit Kumar, was apprehended. Then he disclosed that he along with his partner Rahul Gupta made several fake IDs on account of Shadow fax Company and earned money by delivering the food and collecting money
