Bhubaneswar: The Statgovernment has accorded inprincipleapproval to supportthe setting up of a PaediatricCancer hospital andconstruction of a guest housecum-Dharmasala in the vicinityof Homi Bhabha CancerHospital and Research Centrein Jatni.In a letter to the Director ofthe Tata Memorial Center(TMC)- Mumbai, the OdishaHealth Department stated thatthe government will supportfunding of Rs 150 Crore for theconstruction of a state-of-the-artPaediatric Cancer facility at theCancer Hospital. Of the Rs 150cr, Rs 80 crores will be spent forthe building and 70 crores forthe equipment.The amount will be placedwith TMC for the purpose, theletter read.Similarly, the StateGovernment will construct aDharmshala-cum-Guest House on 2 lakh square feet of land with an estimated cost of about Rs.120 Crore in the vicinity of the hospital. The building will be handedover to TMC. The Works Department will be entrusted with thetask of construction of the building, the letter said.
