The country’s longest earthquake resistant bridge has been inaugurated

New Delhi, Prime Minister Atal Setu, built at a cost of Rs 17,840 crore, is the longest bridge in India and the longest sea bridge in the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari-Nawa Sewa Atal Bridge in Navi Mumbai. Shri Modi visited the photo gallery and an exhibition model of Atal Setu. MTHL Atal Bridge has been constructed at a cost of more than Rs 17,840 crore and is a 21.8 km long 6 lane pole with a distance of about 16.5 km above sea level and about 5.5 km horizontally. Excited to inaugurate the Atal Bridge, a major step towards increasing the ease of living for our citizens, Prime Minister Xray posted. The bridge promises to reduce travel time and improve connectivity to ease daily commutes. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Beish, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Sinde and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were present along with the Prime Minister. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nawa Sewa Atal Setu Urban Transport Infrastructure and Communications The Prime Minister’s aim is to improve the ease of transportation of the citizens. Keeping this vision in mind, the Mumbai Trans Harbor Link, now named Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nawa Sheva Atal Bridge, was constructed. Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of this bridge in December 2016. Atal Bridge has been built at a total cost of more than 17,840 crore rupees. The total length of this bridge is about 21.8 km and it has 6 lanes. It is the longest bridge in India and the longest sea pole in India. It will provide faster road connectivity to Mumbai International Airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport and also reduce travel time from Mumbai to Pune, Goa and South India. This will improve connectivity between Mumbai Port and Jawaharlal Nehru Port.
