The Confederation of All IndiaTraders (CAIT) is expectingbusinesses to earn Rs. 4.25 lakhcrore in just 23 days of this year’sIndian wedding season. wedding expense in India isestimated to be around Rs. 5lakh. The most popular weddingdestinations in the country
include Goa, Jaipur, Kerala andShimla. “The most popularwedding trends in India includedestination weddings, themedweddings, and eco-friendlyweddings,” IPO India added.The upcoming festive andwedding season will lead to anincrease in demand for jewellery,sarees, furniture, readymadegarments, footwear, and otheraccessories, according to CAIT.The next phase of the weddingseason will start from mid-January and will be continued tillJuly, it said.
Meanwhile, during the sameperiod last year, around 32 lakhweddings took place with totalexpenses coming up to Rs. 3.75lakh crore. This assessment wasbased on a survey conducted byCAIT’s research team, PTI
reported. The survey was carriedout in 35 cities with 4,302traders and service providers.
