Surendra Sai Memorial to get Facelift, CM Sanctions 6.41 Cr

As per the direction of the Chief Minister, Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) V K Pandian, visited Sambalpur district to review the progress of various developmental work in the district and redressal of public grievances.

Bhubaneswar: As per the direction of the Chief Minister, Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) V K Pandian, visited Sambalpur district to review the progress of various developmental work in the district and redressal of public grievances. He visited Kuchinda to participate in the public grievance redressal meeting. He interacted with the citizens and assured timely redressal. He participated in similar programs at Rengali and Sambalpur. He visited Khinda, the birthplace and memorial of Veer Surendra Sai. He paid tribute to the freedom fighter and interacted with his family members and the public.5T Secy Reviews Public Grievances Redressal, Progress Of Development  Projects In Sambalpur - PragativadiHe informed Chief Minister over phone regarding the development proposal. Chief Minister immediately directed the Tourism Department to examine and process the proposal. Within an hour, the sanction letter to take up project worth Rs 6.41 crores was issued. Under the project, a memorial hall will be constructed, and a statue of Surendra Sai installed in an area of 1.94 acre at Khinda. The state government will also renovate the existing museum and library there. Besides, landscaping and proper lighting of the place will be made. A meeting hall will also be developed under the project. The chief minister said the birthplace of Surendra Sai is a holy place for every Odia. The great freedom fighter will always remain a source of inspiration for patriotism and nationalism for the youths of Odisha, he added. Born in 1809, Sai had fought against the British rule in India. He was captured and imprisoned at Asirgarh hill fort, now located in Madhya Pradesh. He died inside the jail in 1884. Then Sri Pandian interacted with the college students in Sambalpur. He informed them about Chief Minister’s approval for including all colleges in Sambalpur under 5T Transformation and sanctioning of Rs 27.75 crores for 59 colleges. He motivated the students to work hard in studies and personality development. Pandian visited Maa Ghanteswari Temple and discussed regarding the Temple development and pilgrim facilities. R Vineel Krishna, Special Secretary to CM, Deepak Kumar, IG, Ananya Das, Collector & DM, Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo, SP and senior officials of the district were present during the visit.
