Bhubaneswar : Ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will hold protest demonstrations across Odisha on October 31 against the centre on continuous hike in the prices of petrol, diesel, LPG and other essential commodities.
The BJD leaders will sit on dharna before the Raj Bhawan here on October 31 and later submit a memorandum addressed to the President of India through Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal.
The Biju Mahila Dal, the women wing of the party, will stage a protest demonstration in all the 147 Assembly constituencies across the state on November 1 against the price rise of petrol,diesel, and cooking gas besides other essential commodities.
Addressing newsmen here Government’s Chief Whip, Pramila Mallick and party MLA Atanu Sabya sachi Nayak said the hike in the prices of petroleum products, LPG, edible oil and other commodities have hit the common man during the covid pandemic.
The Biju Chhatra Janata Dal and Biju Yuva Janata Dal will stage dharna and protest demonstrations outside all petrol pumps across the state from November 5 to 7, they said.
