Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh government is set to rename several roads and Aligarh airport after former chief minister Kalyan Singh.
“Cabinet is meeting to take a decision on renaming Aligarh airport after Kalyan Singh,” CM Yogi Adityanath said on Monday.
According to State Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, the road leading to Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya will be named after Singh.
Besides Ayodhya, one road each in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Etah, Bulandshahr and Aligarh will also be rechristened after him.
Mr Maurya has asked his officials to immediately prepare proposals for the same.
Kalyan Singh, also the former Governor of Rajasthan, passed away on Saturday due to sepsis and multi-organ failure. He was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit of SGPGI on July in a critical condition.
