Accra : Qatar is ready to host a unique and exciting 2022 FIFA World Cup, said Hendrick Du Preez, Vice President of Commercial Department of Qatar Airways on Tuesday.
Speaking to Xinhua on the sidelines of the presentation of the airline’s operation in Ghana, Du Preez said the World Cup had presented Qatar with an opportunity to showcase its footballing exploits with stadiums built very close to each other for the games.
“That would make it possible for fans to watch two to three games in a day which would be unique as it never happened in previous World Cups, “he said.
He also expressed wishes for Ghana to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
“The Black Stars have a good chance to qualify ahead of South Africa and I am certain they will be in Qatar to enjoy the unique experience,” said Du Preez.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18 next year.
