Preparatory meeting for ‘Ghumusar Festival’ to be held in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Ghumusar’s literature, art, culture and architecture have gained worldwide fame. In the past, the Bhanja dynasty of Ghumusar reigned in Ghumusar for more than a thousand years, which is rare in world history. But due to the vicissitudes of time, it has been erased in history. Two organizations have been established to promote and disseminate Ghumusaria’s culture. ‘Ghumus Vikash Parishad’ has been formed with President Somnath Nayak, secretary Prakash Chandra Sahu and Prashant Bisoi. Ghumusar Unnayan Manch with Ghumusarias living in Bhubaneswar is the other forum, where Balmiki Patnaik is the President, Akshaya Kumar Patnaik is the secretary, Tarini Patra as members. These two organizations are continuing their efforts for Ghumusar’s overall development. Under Somnath Nayak’s chairmanship, a preparatory meeting of the two platforms was held in Bhubaneswar on Friday. It has been decided to popularize various folk art forms, art, objects, food, music and literature of Ghumusar. Similarly, Biju Patnaik’s life story and other achievers will be highlighted at the festival. Prakash Chandra Sahu, a social worker, announced this. Participants in the preparatory meeting include Er Lingaraj Goud, Educatonist Ramahari Patra, Senior Lawyer Bishwanath Patnaik, Bidyadhar Bhuyan, Balmiki Patra, Simanchal Patral and Rabi Samanta.
