Police Gears up for Devsnan Purnima, SP Reviews with Senior Officers

On June 4, the holy Devsnan Purnima of Shri Jiu will be celebrated in Puri Jagannath Dham. For this, the police have started preparations for traffic control and disciplined darshan of devotees.

Puri Superintendent of Police reviewed the preparation work in front of Lions Gate with senior officials of the district on Friday. The construction work of Shri Mandir Parikrama Route is going on on a war footing.

There is no clarity on whether it will conclude before Devsnan Purnima, but the SP today reviewed the disciplined darshan of devotees. Additional Superintendent of Police Mihir Kumar Panda, Deputy Commandant of Puri Jagannath Temple Kaushik Nayak, Assistant Commandant Ghanshyam Heram, Assistant Commandant of Home Guard Department Jitendra Dehuri, City DSP KK Hariprasad, Reserve Inspector Chandrashekhar Das, DIB Inspector Gayatri Mishra were present under the leadership of SP Dr. K. Vishal Singh.

The blueprint has been prepared keeping in mind the circumambulation of the temple. Especially this year, there was a discussion on how devotees will have darshan of Shri Jiu in the bathing pavilion. For this, SP Dr. Singh gave orders to streamline the traffic system. Apart from this, the arrangement of barricades around the temple and the movement of devotees were also discussed. This year, the police are planning to deploy a large number of police forces.
