New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged people in West Bengal to exercise their franchise and follow all COVID norms in the seventh phase of the Assembly polls for which the voting is underway.
Mr Modi took to twitter and wrote: “The seventh phase of the West Bengal elections takes place today. Urging people to exercise their franchise and follow all COVID-19 related protocols.”
Amid unprecedented security arrangements, polling commenced at 0700 hrs for 34 constituencies across five districts. The districts being Malda Part I, Kolkata South, Murshidabad Part I, West Bardhaman Part and Dakshin Dinajpur.
The results will be declared on May 2.
