Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India (ECI)Â today announced the date for holding bypoll for Pipili assembly constituency. According to a notification issued by the ECI, the bye-election for Pipili will be held on April 17.
The Pipili seat fell vacant after the death of BJD strongman Pradip Maharathi on October 4, 2020. The ECI stated that it has decided to hold bye-elections to fill vacancies in two Parliamentary Constituencies of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and 14 vacancies in Assembly Constituencies of various States (including Odisha’s Pipili. The results of the bypoll will be announced on May 2.
