Odisha’s Fresh Covid Caseload Crosses 200 Mark

Bhubaneswar: The fresh Covid positive cases in Odisha surged past 200 over the past 24 hours, the state government said on Friday. With 204 fresh viral infection cases reported during the last 24 hours, the cumulative Covid cunt in the state has risen to 12,89,961. The Information and Public Relations department sources here said 119 Covid incidences were identified among those in
quarantine, while 85 cases were local contacts. The fresh covid positive cases included 18 in the age group of 0 to 18 years. Khurdha district reported the highest number of 86 positive cases followed by Cuttack 38, Sundergarh 18 and Balasore 8. The fresh covid positive cases were detected from 15,615 sample tests and the Test Positive Rate in the state stood at 1.3 percent. The active cases in the state surged to 872 and so far 12,79910 have recovered from the infection and discharged from the hospital With the rise in Covid positive cases in the state, more particularly in the Khordha district, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made the wearing of face masks mandatory for its citizens. It also asked people to follow all Covid guidelines like maintaining social distancing in public places and banned spitting in public . The BMC has warned of penal action for violators of the order.
