Odisha reports 585 new covid positive cases and five fatalities during the last 24 hours

Bhubaneswar : Odisha reported 585 new coronavirus infection cases during the last 24 hours taking the total tally of cases in the state to 10,24,320.

The State Health and Family Welfare department sources said out of the total 585 new Covid positive cases while 342 were reported from quarantine centres 243 are local contacts.

Khordha district reported the highest number of 206 positive cases followed by Cuttack 67, Balasore 38 and Jaipur 36.
The 585 new covid 19 positive cases included 96 children in the age group of 0 to 18.

The active caseload of the state went up to 5909.

The death toll climbed to 8175 with the virus claiming five more lives during the last 24 hours.

While Khordha district reported two deaths, Keonjhar, Koraput and Puri reported one death each.

The total number of recovered cases in the state stands at 10,10,183.
