Bhubaneswar : Odisha reported 582 new Covid 19 positive cases including 83 in the age group of 0 to 18 and seven fatalities during the last 24 hrs.
With the report of new cases the total covid positive cases in the state surged to 10,29,994. The number of active cases in the state now stands at 5113.
The state had seen 593 new infections on Wednesday, 453 on Tuesday, 407 on Monday and 528 on Sunday.
Health and Family Welfare department sources said out of the total 582 new cases while 337 cases were reported from quarantine centres 245 were local contact cases.
Khordha district reported 282 new covid cases , the highest in the state during the last 24 hours followed by Cuttack 46, Jagatsinghpur and Jaipur 24 each, Mayurbhanja 22, Sambalpur and Puri 21 each.
The total fatalities in the state due to covid surged to 8234 with the report of seven new deaths in the last 24 hours.
While Khordha and Cuttack reported two deaths each, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanja reported one death each during the last 24 hours.
During the last 24 hours 429 covid patients have been recovered from the infection taking the total recoveries in the state to 10,16,594.
