Bhubaneswar : Odisha registered a slight dip in daily COVID 19 positive cases with the report of 545 new Corona positive cases including 74 children in the age group of 0-18 years, during the last 24 hours.
Health and Family Welfare department said out of the 545 new covid positive cases while 319 are from quarantine enters and 226 are local contact cases.
Khurda district reported the highest of 218 cases followed by Cuttack 73 Balasore 47 and Jagatsinghpur reported 37 cases.
With these cases being detected from 52,675 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.03 per cent.
While the total affected tally has touched 1025309 Odisha now has 5587 active cases.
The total Covid fatalities in the state went up to 8187 with the report of seven more deaths due to covid during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile Odisha Director Medical Education and Training C B K Mohanty said the state government would implement the. Supreme Court directive and would provide compensation of Rs 50,000 to the families of the COVID 19 victims.
He said the state government would soon formulate a SOP for the purpose soon.
