Bhubaneswar : Odisha reported 478 new Covid 19 positive cases including 57 children under the age of 18 and seven fatalities during the last 24 hrs.
With the report of new cases the total covid positive cases in the state surged to 10,27,431. The number of active cases in the state now stands at 5336.
Health and Family Welfare department sources said out of the total 478 new cases while 281 cases were reported from quarantine centres 197 were local contact cases.
Khordha district reported 211 new covid cases , the highest in the state during the last 24 hours followed by Cuttack 57 ,Jagatsinghpur 29 and Balasore 25.
The total fatalities due to covid in the state climbed up to 8209 with the report of seven new deaths in the last 24 hours.
While Khordha and Sundergarh reported two deaths each Jagatsinghpur, Jaipur and Kendrapara reported one death each.
The total recoveries from the infection rose to 10,13,833 with the recovery of 691 Covid patients during the last 24 hours.
