Bhubaneswar : The number of covid infection in Odisha today declined with the state reporting 477 new Covid 19 positive cases including 74 in the below 18 age group during the last 24 hours against 602 cases yesterday.
State Health and Family Welfare department sources said out of the 477 new Corona virus cases while 278 were reported from quarntine centres, 199 were local contact cases.
Khordha district reported the highest number of 200 new covid positive cases, in the state during the last 24 hours followed by Cuttack 62, Balasore 26 Mayurbhanja and Jagatsinghpur 23 each.
The state reported four new fatalities during the last 24 hours taking the total death tally to 8202.
Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanja , Cuttack and Nayagarha reported one death each.
The state has now 5556 active cases and a total case load of 10,26,953. So far 10,13,142 have recovered from the infection.
