Odisha reports 433 new covid cases, four deaths in past 24 hours

Bhubaneswar : The daily covid load in Odisha continued to report below 500 mark consecutively for the last four days
while the daily test positivity rate(TPR) maintained less than 0.7 percent.

Health and family Welfare department sources said in the past 24 hours 433 new cases which included 252 from the quarantine centres and 181 as local contact cases were reported taking the total tally in the state to 10,39,269.

At least 64 positive cases ( 14.7 percent) were recorded in the age group of 0 to 18 years and Khordha district registered the highest number of 207 cases(47 percent) followed by Cuttack ( 36),Sambalpur ( 17) and Mayurbhanj ( 15).

During the period four covid deaths were reported in the health audit pushing the total fatalities in the state to 8316.The recoveries surged to 10,26,277 as 360 patients were cured from the virus on Monday.

The active cases in the state stood at 4623 out of which Khordha district alone accounted for 2252 cases which is 48.7 percent of the total active cases in the state.

Official sources said out of 30 districts only two districts such as Khordha and Cuttack have recorded the test positivity rate above one percent in the past 24 hours while the other 28 districts have the test positivity rate below one percent.
