Bhubaneswar : For the second consecutive day Odisha reported the daily covid load of below 400 mark as 374 new cases were registered in the past 24 hours taking the tally in the state to 10,40,969.
Health and Family Welfare department sources said of the 374 new cases detected in the state, 218 were from the quarantine centres and 156 as local contact cases.
At least 65 cases were found in the age group of 0 to18 years and Khordha district recorded the highest number of 182 cases,registering 48.6 percent of the total cases, followed by Mayurbhanj( 22),Cuttack( 17) and Balasore (14).
As many as 17 of the total 30 districts in the state recorded single digit covid cases in the past 24 hours.
Official sources said four more covid deaths were reported from three districts in the health audit pushing the total fatalities in the state to 8329.
On Friday 553 covid patients were cured from the virus taking the total recoveries in the state to 10,28,207.
The active cases in the state further reduced to 4380 of which Khordha district alone accounted for 2083 cases which is 47.5 percent of the total active cases in the state.Only four districts such as Sambalpur, Jajpur ,Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack have more than 100 active cases while the other 25 districts have less than 100 active cases.
The daily test positivity rate(TPR) in the state further dipped to 0.54 percent in the past 24 hours and only two districts Khordha and Deogarh reported the TPR at 1.4 percent and 1.1 percent respectively while the other 28 districts recorded less than one percent.
