Bhubaneswar : Odisha reported 239 new covid cases in the past 24 hours taking the cumulative tally in the state to 10,46,798.
During the period two covid deaths were recorded in the ongoing health audit pushing the fatalities in the state to 8391.
The recoveries in the state rose to 10,35,967 as 354 more covid patients were recovered on Friday while the covid positive cases dropped to 2387.
The daily test positivity rate (TPR) was recorded at 0.41 per cent as out of 57,295 tests conducted in the state on Friday, 239 tested covid positive.
Health and Family Welfare department sources said out of 239 new cases reported from 19 districts during the past 24 hours, a majority of 140 were found from the quarantine centres and 99 as local contact cases.
While as many as eleven districts reported no covid cases in the past 24 hours, 16 districts have single-digit covid cases.
Khordha district registered the highest number of 123 new cases, about 50.46 per cent of the total covid case in the state followed by Cuttack ( 24) and Mayurbhanj (13).
These three districts together accounted for about 67 per cent of the total covid cases Khordha district has also the highest number of 1121 active cases followed by 211 in Cuttack.
These two coastal districts have 55.84 per cent of the total active cases in the state.
Sources said Khordha district has the highest TPR of 1.8 per cent. The other 29 districts have less than one per cent TPR of which ten districts have zero test positivity rate in the past 24 hours.
