Odisha govt. issues new covid guidelines

Bhubaneswar, Jan 5 (UNI) Odisha government has issued new covid guidelines on Wednesday in
view of steep hike in the covid positive cases in the state in the past two days.
The night curfew timings in all urban areas in the state will now be from 9 PM to 5 AM instead of
10 PM to 5 AM from January 7 to February 1.
State Special Relief Commissioner(SRC) P K Jena said the new guidelines were issued as there
has been a steep rise in the covid positive cases and the state has witnessed 79 percent rise in the coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.
As per the new guidelines effective from January 7 all schools , colleges up to 12 standard will be closed .However, all such educational institution were encouraged to online video method of teaching and learning for class x and XII students
All types of shops, malls and shopping complexes shall remain open across the state from 5 AM to
9 PM everyday.
All social, religious gatherings in the state are prohibited so also the large gatherings.Political,sports and academic functions and gathering shall be allowed with a ceiling of 100 persons. Inclosed spaces
a maximum 50 percent of the hall capacity will be allowed subject to the ceiling.
Marriages, thread ceremonies and related gatherings with the approval of local authority will be allowed with a ceiling for the entire event.
Under no circumstances the number will exceed the ceiling for the entire event.Marriage processions will be allowed with prior approval of the competent authority subject to the ceiling of 30 persons.
Similarly, funerals and Last rites gatherings with the approval of the authority with a ceiling of 50 persons
Indoor and outdoor shootings ,TV serial shootings in the state will be allowed observing covid guidelines and under no circumstances the number of persons shall not exceed more than 50
persons.
All government offices in the state will function with 50 percent staff and the private offices and intuitions were asked to reduce their staff strength and encourage work from home concept.
The government has banned all picnics, mela and cultural functions in clubs and kalian mandaps.
