Rendo Majhi Medical College inOdisha’s Kalahandi district.Spread over an area of 43.18acres, the Shahid Rendo MajhiMedical College has been built
with an investment of Rs 531crore. In all, 22 departments arefunctioning at the institute with49 teaching faculty and 38 seniorresidents and tutors.The first batch of 100 MBBS
students admitted to the collegein the academic year 2023-2024were also present on the occasion.”These students have come fromUttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana,
Bihar, Rajasthan, West Bengaland Odisha. Forty-one among arefrom Odisha.Along with the medical college,the state government is alsobuilding a 650-bed teachinghospitalwithaninvestmentofRs 206 crore. It is currentlyunder construction.Following the inauguration, thestudents interacted with thedignitaries and shared theirexperiences.Interacting with studentPratish KumarKukhar,when theChief Minister asked about thefacilities at the medical college,the latter said that all facilitiesare available for studying thereand they are studying happily.

Greeting thepeople of the district on theKalahandi Foundation Day, the
Chief Minister said that 63 buseswill run under this scheme andthey will operate in allpanchayats of the district.Inaugurating the scheme at theKalahandi University campus,
the Chief Minister said that theLaxmi bus scheme will bringhappiness to homes and take thevehicle of development forward.He added that 1,000 buses willrun in this scheme in the entire
state.It is worth noting that the mainobjective of the Laxmi busscheme is to improve the localtransport system and promotetourism and the regionaleconomy. After the launch of the
scheme, the Chief Minister tooka bus ride to Balrampur andinaugurated a BQS facility there.Declaring that today is a bigmilestone in the developmentjourney of Kalahandi and a dayof great joy, the Chief Minister said that a project worth more thanRs 300 crore was inaugurated here today. Another Rs 900 crore worthof infrastructure was laid for the project. He said that this would furtheraccelerate the development of the district. Informing that the LaxmiYojana has been started after getting to know about the problem ofbuses in the villages from the Chief Minister’s Office, the Chief Ministersaid, “This will remove your daily worries. More than 1,000 buses willoperate in the state soon,” adding, “The buses will come to your house.
They will connect all – mobility of children to schools, farmers tomarkets, and mothers will increase.” Highlighting the development ofKalahandi, the Chief Minister said, “Kalahandi is our model in the fieldof transformation. Improvements in education, health communication,infrastructure, industry, and agriculture have made the dreams of thepeople of Kalahandi come true. Kalahandi has changed its history andadded new success stories. The journey of development has progressed.Kalahandi is providing rice to the whole country today.” He said that
the Indravati Project is the engine of Kalahandi’s development andadded that this project has brightened the face of Kalahandi. “Soon ourNabin Odisha programme will start here. Each panchayat will receiveRs 50 lakh. This money will be spent on our culture and moderninfrastructure.” He opined that the development journey of Kalahandiwill go further in the coming days with everyone’s cooperation. TheMinister of Water Resources and Commerce and Transport TukuniSahu participated in the programme and said that the Chief Ministerhas made history through the Laxmi Yojana. Panchayats where peoplenever dreamed of having transport facilities, today have a beautifulmodern bus transport system. 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VKPandian was present on the occasion. Lok Sabha MP Basant Panda,Rajya Sabha MP Sujit Kumar, MLAs Bhupinder Singh, DibyshankarMishra, Moushadhi Bagh, and Pradeep Kumar Dishari participated inthe programme and praised the strong leadership and vision of theChief Minister in the development of Odisha.
