Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday approved two Instream Storage Structure projects for Balangir district. The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 296.50 crore for the two projects. These projects are – the Sikuan/ Siletkani Instream Storage Structure on the Sunagarh River and Kutasingha Instream Storage Structure on Ang River. While Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 49 crore for the Sikuan project, he has sanctioned Rs 247.50 crore for the Kutasingha project. Worth mentioning, the CM approved these two projects as per the wish of the people who gave the proposals to 5T chairman VK Pandian during his visit to the district. People of four blocks will benefit by these projects. In addition to raising the groundwater level, these projects will be especially helpful for drinking water projects, fish farming, animal husbandry etc. While the people of Deogaon and Balangir blocks will benefit by Sikuan project, the Kutasingha project will benefit the people of the Dangarpalli and Agalpur blocks.
