Nepal’s PM and wife impressed with new look Kashi

Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife Arzu Rana Deuba, who paid obeisance at Kashi Vishwanath Temple and offered prayers on Sunday, were impressed with the new look of the eternal city of Kashi. The Deuba couple were overwhelmed with their grand welcome in Kashi and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for it. While sharing her experience of visiting Kashi, wife of the visiting Prime Minister, Arzu Rana Deuba said that she visited Varanasi in 2017. Now on coming to Kashi again after five years, it seemed as if she was visiting a different city altogether, she said. She said that a lot of things have changed in Kashi, especially in the Kashi Vishwanath temple complex. Deuba said that during the last visit they had to travel a long way through narrow lanes to reach Kashi Vishwanath Temple. “Now the entire complex is open and grand. Ganga is directly visible from Kashi Vishwanath Dham,” she said. She said that in Nepal, Kashi is seen as a place where a person attains salvation. Deuba said that culturally, India and Nepal are one. “This close relationship between India and Nepal is eternal and it will always be. In fact, this is the closest relationship between any two countries,” she said. It may be noted that Nepal PM Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday paid a visit to Varanasi. He was welcomed by CM Yogi at Babatpur airport. Later he paid obeisance at Kashi’s Kotwal Kaal Bhairav’s temple, Baba Vishwanath Dham and Nepali temple. Nepali temple, which is around 200 years old, was constructed near Ganga Ghat by the royal family of Nepal as a replica of Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu.
