Naveen Dedicates 59 Projects under PGMLI

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated 59 mega lift points under the Parbati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation Project (PGMLIP), an ambitious initiative aimed at enhancing water management across 13 districts in the state. The project, comprising 59 mega lift points, involves an investment of Rs 2,500 crores and covers an extensive 80,000 hectares of arable land. Addressing the audience through a video conference during the program, the Chief Minister emphasized the transformative impact the project would have on agriculture in the state. He praised the dedication and hard work of the farmers, referring to them as the nation’s unsung heroes. The Chief Minister has been actively engaging with farmers, discussing various issues and incorporating their feedback into government plans. Highlighting the government’s commitment to agricultural development, the Chief Minister mentioned that the state’s agriculture budget has tripled over the past five years, reaching Rs 25,000 crores. He specifically pointed out the success of the Kalia Yojana, which has proven highly beneficial for farmers. The government has allocated Rs 600 crores for the Prima Grama Bima Yojana, providing insurance cover to farmers, and has extended loans of up to Rs 1 lakh without interest.
