Naidu complains to CEC about rigging in Tirupati LS by-election

Vijayawada, Apr 17 (DM) Telugu Desam party national president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu complained to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) about the gross violations of election model code of conduct and rigging in the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election in AP on Saturday and demanded action against minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy.

In a letter to the CEC, which was released to the media here today, Mr.Naidu complained to the CEC that grass violations of election model code of conduct took place, thousands of YSRCP henchmen brought from outside in Hundreds of buses to cast fake votes, impersonation, booth capturing, rigging and to instigate violence took place in the by election.

“Thousands of YSRCP henchmen have been brought to Tirupati parliamentary constituency in hundreds of private/school/college buses with mala-fide intention to capture booths, rig elections, vote by impersonation, cast fake votes and instigate violence to mar the elections. In spite of numerous complaints to the Election Commission with video and photographic evidence, there appears to be no response from the local election authorities and there is no change at the ground level”, Mr.Naidu complained to the CEC in the letter.

Mr.Naidu said that Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy is not a voter of Tirupati parliament constituency, but stayed back in the constituency even after ending of campaign on the 15th April 7 PM and he conducted a press meet at Tirupati at around 11.15 AM violating election model code of conduct.
Mr.Naidu demanded that Mr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy be dismissed as Minister, register a case and arrest him with immediate effect.
