New Delhi : BJP President JP Nadda on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the face of politics in India, lauding him for decisions like abrogation of Article 370, banning triple talaq, and paving way for the Ram temple, as he wished him on his 71st birthday.
The BJP is observing the prime minister’s birthday as a ‘service day’, and camps are being held across the country for Covid-19 vaccination, blood donation and cleanliness campaigns.
“Prime Minister Modi has changed the political culture of the country. He has made politics shift from nepotism, casteism and politics of appeasement to a new culture of developmental politics,” Nadda said at a function at the BJP headquarters where he launched the ‘Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyan’ on Modi’s birthday.
“BJP has been celebrating the prime minister’s birthday as ‘service day’…There is nothing that gives more satisfaction than working for others,” Nadda said.
He praised the prime minister for his dedication to public service, and lauded the landmark decisions of the Modi government.
“Article 30 was abrogated, triple talaq was banned, the path for a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya was paved, surgical strike and air strike was done on terrorism, OROP was implemented…”, Nadda said counting the achievements.
He also said that the government ensured higher MSPs for crops, and free rations during the pandemic.
“Free ration was given to people in the pandemic, recommendations of the Swaminathan Committee were implemented,” he added.
The BJP is holding vaccination camps across the country with around seven lakh volunteers. According to government figures, over 1.37 crore vaccine doses were administered by around 1 p.m.
The 20-day event launched today also marks Modi’s “two decades in public service”, and will go on till October 7.
The party will also distribute more than 14 crore ration kits and hold blood camps besides organising other welfare activities during the 20-day campaign.
